History class is very interesting. We watch movies about history and they are so interesting. We also do simulations which teach us about history as well. In this class you just don't sit around and read your textbook bored. You stay very intrigued and wonder what will happen next. We also take cornell notes so it can prepare us for high school. I have to say that how the history is very exciting.
SIMULATION
In this class we had a short small simulation. Simulations are short reenactments of the past. In this photo there was one desk which represented Japan. All the people on the top of the desk represented the overcrowding of Japan. Japan is still overcrowded today. In Japan they have to import a lot of things. Since it is so overcrowded they have room for nothing. Japan is very small like about the size of Montana. In conclusion, this simulation taught me a lot of things I didn't know and some things I already knew. I chose this to talk about because it was the shortest simulation I ever did. click photo to enlarge

MAYAN CALENDAR DBQ
For my class this DBQ was worth 30 points for our history grade. A DBQ is an abbreviated way to say data based questions. A DBQ is a written essay about a certain subject with supporting evidence. The topic of this DBQ was what you thought was the most important Mayan achievement. I chose the Mayan calendar. The Mayans' calendar had 365 days. Just like the calendar we used today. It would help them determine when would be the best for farming and when would the best time to perform religious ceremonies. Each symbol on the calendar represents something. In the Mayan calendar they had 20 months. Each month had 20 days. It is a little different from the calendar we use today. It is amazing how the Mayans invented this on their own calendar and how there are similarities to the calendar we use today. I chose to talk about this because the Mayan calendar was a great invention. click photo to enlarge
